Schieffer student recognized with Addy Awards

Heather Tansill, a senior intern at RealWorld IMC, the student-led advertising agency at TCU, received the Silver award for the Student Addy Category of Mixed Media Campaign and a Student Special Judges Award for the Best Viral [Marketing] Campaign. The awards were given for the SafeHaven “Know the Red Flags” campaign that flooded the TCU campus in October 2007.

Local advertising agencies, professionals and students attended the annual American Advertising Federation Fort Worth Addy awards gala Saturday night with hopes of dominating the competition.

TCU was represented with 17 awards given, 15 to students from the department of graphic design and two to Tansill, a senior Ad/PR major in the Schieffer School of Journalism.

The competition was fierce this year with only 227 awards for the 468 entries; the amount of student entries more than doubled from last year.
